Octordle Hard is played with hard-mode rules: you can't throw in a word just to test new letters. Every guess must use the clues of at least one unsolved board.

How to play Octordle Theme of the day

Green letters must stay in their places, and yellow letters must appear in the guess, for the board you are working on. A guess that ignores the clues of every unsolved board is not accepted, and the game tells you which letter is missing. You have 13 tries.

Do I have to follow the clues of all eight boards?

No, that would usually be impossible. A guess is accepted if it fits all the clues of at least one board that is not solved yet.

Are Hard games counted with the classic ones?

No. The puzzles are separate from the classic game, and the statistics of each mode are kept apart.
